Help please with diagnosis of enlarged legs

Thank you for your advice. The circled picture where the debris is, that is what covered her legs. I am going to try the penicillin next, my vet does not treat chickens. Thanks again.

Help please with diagnosis of enlarged legs

They have a tree branch about 8" off the floor. The floor is covered in Tractor Supply shavings. It started with very bad crusts and after soaking, the crusts came off and this won't heal. I am thinking about penicillin in case it is an infection. It does look like a wound right now. One...

Help please with diagnosis of enlarged legs

Since she is separated from the others, she is in a separate run with a dog house for her sleeping and shelter. There is no roost in there so basically she is on shavings and hay on the floor.

Help please with diagnosis of enlarged legs

I have an older chicken who has feathered feet. I didn't know she had such a problem as none of my other chickens do. They did have mites but were easily cured with vaseline. This chicken is pretty bad, I tried epsom salt soaks, antibiotic ointment, wrapping them, etc. They are not getting...

    Fertile eggs getting pink spots

Can anyone tell me if they ever saw pink spots appear on fertile eggs that are under broody hens. I purchased fertile eggs and they were packaged superbly - no breaks or cracks when delivered. I put them under 2 broody hens and a few days later I noticed pink spots starting to appear on the...

Help! My chicken ate my diamond earring!

Did you ever get this resolved and is your chicken okay? My 4 month old pullet plucked my inexpensive earring right out of my ear today and I could not believe she ate it. I am worried about the post portion of it in her gizzard. Please let me know how you made out. Thanks.

Thank you for your help. I am new to this and out of 9 chicks, only 3 are female, this would be 4. They are the sweetest things.

    Cochin Bantam pullets

Is there anyone in the Albany-Schenectady-Troy, NY area that raises Cochins? I got only 2 females out of 6 chicks that I started and would like to have 2 more for my small flock. My flock is 2 1/2 months old and one is about a month but I am afraid it is looking like another boy.
