update on my cemani chicks: these 3 are doing so well! the one with the open navel/stomach doesn't act like it's different at all, very very healthy and smart! we still have 2 eggs in the incubator, but we'll give them until day 26 (today is day 22).
good and bad news: the egg that i had separated died but that's fine because at least the others are safe. i had one hatch this morning and two more hatch an hour ago, but one seems to have an open navel so i'm looking after that one. the first one that hatched is a bully! so rowdy lol
ok update: i moved it to my other incubator because the liquid coming out didn't seem safe for the others, especially because there was a lot. i switched it with the shower running so hopefully i didn't shrink wrap the rest of them 🤞 i don't think the leaky egg is going to hatch at all, but it...
well i already have some pips in the shells, but one of them pipped on the bottom and is leaking yolk. i am relatively new to hatching, so is this normal? or should i take it out? i also have a second incubator if i need to isolate some/move them away.
Just put my 6/9 cemani eggs into lockdown, crazy how 18 days goes by so fast! One of them isn't as dark internally as the others, but it's still developed, so I'll be watching him closely. Congrats to all the new hatches, and good luck to the current ones!
Hey hatchers! Just started 9 cemani eggs from my neighbor just to see the hatching rate. No high hopes for the outcome, but I'll put some updates on here! due around feb. 28
