    I really don't think this is an off topic post. This is an everything forum. This post is giving advice on how to keep your chickens neighbor friendly. It shows the upside of keeping chickens in the city which is more than I can say for a lot of posts about neighbors.

    I didn't get up till 1 and then went to band practice at 5 and got back at 7. I haven't had a life the past to weeks what a relief.

    It wouldn't surprise me if the chickens wouldn't mind some water on a hot day. Most birds do. The judge at a poultry show recently said if you were going to bathe a chicken you need warm water and it should be at least 70 degrees outside to let them air dry.

    I agree with gypsy2621 dogs do need something to do. My Beagle mutt took the job of being a nurse. No matter who is hurt he does the best to heal their wounds. My cat used to get into fights and come back all beat up and bloody. My dog used to lay on the cat's chair and nurse his wounds.

    I know they have solar lights that the solar panel is seperate from the light so it can be put on the roof and the light in the coop. just an option.

    Jarhead is right. Bleach quickly changes forms and becomes non toxic once it is mixed with other bases.

    A Tough Decision

    I have a tough decision. I can only get 4-5 chickens. My first thought was to get a rooster and and 3-4 Australorp hens. Then I thought about over breeding and how roosters can be aggressive sometimes. So I have 2 choices. a) I get 4-5 australorp hens b) I get 3-4 australorp hens...
