I have 5 buff Orpingtons and 6 golden laced Wyadottes I need to sell. Me and my wife are moving and can not take the chickens with us. it just breaks out hearts. The buffs are a year old and the Wyadottes are 8 months. Great layers. 100 dollars for the whole bunch. jonathan Loacated in...
Me and my wife are moving to wonderful Cobb County Ga in about a month. I recently found out that you have to have at least 2 acres of land to have chickens. We unfortunately do not have 2+ acres of land but we all know it is very easy to keep chickens on much less land than that. Is there...

I always hard boil them. Then put them in the freezer for about 20-30 minutes. Then I role them until the shell breaks where the small air pocket is. I never have a problem pealing them this way.
Any Bantam breeds that lay in winter? I think they are all so cute and small. It also sound like they are very quiet. i know I have a lot of questions but I'm just curious. Does anyone have a picture of the mille Fleur Bantams. They look like they would be beautiful. Sounds like i might...
Audrey looks beautiful I always wanted a Japanese are those BO's in the background towering over her? Are the Japanese bantams decent layers? Are any of the true Bantams decent layers?
I want bantams because they would just fit better in an urban environment. Being quiet is a want that has nothing to do with the size. My buffs would probably turn some heads.
Samramas are way out of my price range. That is the most expensive chicken I have ever seen, although they are very cute. I would not mind having a breed in the Meyer or Mcmurray catalogs. If you have an opinion on what would be best let me know. I have heard good things about Cochin's...
Unfortunately me and my wife are having to move to the city(downtown) and we will not be able to take our loud chickens with us. What I mean is our buffs and SLW's want to let everyone know that they laid an egg every time. It is like a chicken party outside. We currently live in a different...
I say put them in together. Here is what I did. At four weeks I put the chickens in the same pin just separated off. When the younger chickens got to six weeks old I desegregated them right before dark. A couple of hours later and they were just fine. No major problems. I have 5 older buff...
To tell you the truth I hunt, fish, and grow about 50 percent of what my family eats but I don't think I could kill my BOs for meat. They are just too sweet. I do think they would make decent meat bird but nothing great. As for being layers though they are great They will lay straight through...
Well it bothered me a lot when i was waiting for my chickens to start laying that most of the time whenever someone got their first egg the post never said how old the culprit chicken was.
It would be great if someone said something like got my first egg today, it was my BO fluffy that layed...
I was wondering as it seems that one of the most asked questions is when will my chickens start laying eggs? Can we put a chart on BYC that gives average times that certain breeds start laying or is that just a CRAZY idea?
I got the rice from a co-op a neighbor of mine is in. I can not recall the name of it. The rice in my opinion is not fit for human consumption as it tastes like your eating a burlap bag. Maybe that is the reason it was so cheap. For the chickens though i thought it would work out great. I...
