    Drumstick Diva....Can I put her back in the coop tonight and just take out the nesting box so there is nothing but a dirt bottom with a perch, do you think that might work, being the nesting box is gone there's nothing for her to sit in?

    Rio Linda feed store has ducks, a variety of chickens and turkeys. They have great prices and a very friendly, helpful staff for first time chicken owners... I'm in Sacramento, ca. I think of us as Northern California. We also have a city across the river called West Sac.

    I think you all nailed it!!! She is trying so hard to get back into the coop it's funny. She's pacing, jumping on top of the coop so I put her in another yard to see how she does but I'm sure as soon as night falls she'll be the first to be in side the coop. I'll just lock her out of it again...

    She's eating and drinking fine, she just won't stay out of the nesting box for very long. She runs right back to it after she eats and drinks and visits with the other chickens....lol

    Okay, that's pretty much what she seems to be doing. She's walking fine, eating and drinking, but she just won't stay out of her nesting box for very long. She's got her tail feathers up and her chest down just like she's on an egg... This is all new to me with chickens. Could you explain Broody.

    Help!! My Hen Staar has a hurt leg.

    She was given a couple drops of shaved powder as we had no responses, but keeping a close eye on her and making her as comfortable as possible. She seems to be fine right now. If anything changes I'll let you know. Does anyone know why they shouldn't have Ibuprophen?
