Please help! Is my chicken molting?

Lol thanks so much! I called the lady at the feed store earlier, and she was being really rude and just said that they don't usually molt on their feathers, so she was probably sick with mites or something. I got super scared after that because I love my chickens lol but thanks for clearing that...

Please help! Is my chicken molting?

Hi. So I noticed about 2-3 days ago that one of my chickens started loosing a lot of feathers, they were ALL over the coop and there run. I live in california so it's sort of warm right now. I've had them for about a year and a half and they've never molted (like seriously molted) ever. This...

How to get them to eat more than crumble and mealworms?

When my chickens were young, they refused to eat anything besides their feed. When they were a 2 months old or something, i started giving them boiled eggs, and they really loved that (it sounds weird but it's good for them). Then gradually as they got older, they started eating more things, and...

    Puppy heartwrom medication questions

Okay, thanks! Mosquitos aren't really an issue in the area, but there seem to be a lot near our house (we bought one of those bug zapper things and it goes off all the time). I think i'll ask another vet, and if they say they do give it to them, then I'll just give him the medicine just to be safe:)

    Puppy heartwrom medication questions

This isn't about chickens, but when shoudl we start giving our 5 month old puppy heartworm medication. I called the vet and they said that they don't give it to their dogs, because it's not an issue where we live (in southern california). Is this true?

I can't tell if my rooster is attacking or...?

My rooster does the same thing as this. He'll charge at my feet every once in a while. He's been doing this for a while, but has never attacked me and never hurts the hens. I wouldn't worry, but maybe someone with more experience could answer.

Help me think of a name for new golden doodle!

Hey everyone! Finally, we're getting a dog:) We're getting her on June 20th. She's a medium sized goldendoodle and going to be light colored. I'm horrible at names, and need to start thinking of one (she's going to puppy school for 2 weeks until we get her where they teach her her name and...

    How many eggs?

It depends on how much light they have. Make sure they have a lot of calcium. That sounds right, but my laying hens generally miss a day every so often. As they get older, they will lay less.

    Ordering Ducklings - Advice?

I don't really know anything about ducks, but if you order them, I would make sure to call your post office and make sure they know that you are ordering live animals. I would also pick them up from the post office when they arrive.

    Brooder box in bathroom

I don't think so. Mine didn't seem to mind any noise. They were just curious of it.

Questions about Egglaying, Fertlized Eggs, and other things!

Hi everyone! So... today we got our first eggs! We got 2 eggs, and I think they are from our 2 silkie girls. They were pretty small and a sort of pinkish white color, but they tasted really good. I have a few questions about eggs. 1- How do you tell if an egg is fertilized? We recently found...
