This my 7 week old chick. I thought she was a hen but her comb has been growing a lot and it’s so different than all the other girls and roosters we have. Now I’m worried it’s not normal! Help! Anyone else experience a comb like this?

We recently turned an old well house into our new coop to accommodate more chickens and we found a huge black snake trying to get in the side of coop. It’s a black rat snake (common in Missouri and non venomous) but I know they like to eat eggs! Any advice on how to keep them away? thanks!

I was unaware of that! Thanks for the information! I started giving them some with their normal starter crumbles a little over a week ago. I will definitely reduce it to just every once in a while!

One of my chicks had pasty butt and diarrhea as well so we started incorporating organic oats in the food and they have had solid poops ever since!! No more pasty butt! Hope this helps!

I was outside with my free range girls yesterday and I noticed 2 of them doing this weird “swirl” with their necks. It almost looked like they were dancing or head bobbing! It was relatively cool outside yesterday (60 degrees/sunny). Anyone know what or why they do this? :celebrate
