I have 11 4-week old chicks, and 23 2 to 3- week old chicks in the house.
I usually wiat about 6 to 8 weeks of age until i put them outside.
But they should be fine during the day with the light but I wouldn't leave them outside at night. That's way to cold!
I ended up with 12 chicks, a day early. 7 Salmon favorlles, 5 belgium bearded d'uccles (3 mille fleur, 2 black). I want to incubate some leghorn eggs but I will have to wait until I reduce my flock at the swap meet.
Mine should be hatching around the 22nd or 23rd. I had originally set my eggs March 1st, but we had a snow storm in Georgia and we lost power for about 14 hours. They had only been setting a couple of hours when the power went off, hopefully not long enough to warm up. I have 23 assorted eggs...

I have 37 chickens outside, it is suppose to be in the "teens" in Georgia this weekend. This is the lowest temperature that we have had since I got my chickens. Will they be able to withstand the frigid temperatures? I have a large tarp that I could throw over the top to cut down on the wind.
They did just fine, we are going to add on to our coop, so they can go in there soon. Seven more to get out of the house, 5 of them are a cross between a white leghorn hen and a feathered footed belgium bearded d'uccle. the are feathered foot leghorns
Mine is out of necessity too, I have 12 chickens in the house in all. Three of the six week olds are Blue Andalusian and they are already BIG. I just hope they will be okay outside. I'll let you know in the morning
