We are located near Hillsborough, NC. I apologize but we don't have purebred chickens so I don't know the breeds. I will post some pictures of those looking for a new home and you can see them for yourself.
We have a growing backyard flock, but the number hens haven't been able to keep pace with the roosters desire for a harem, so fights ensue. We are hoping someone has room for 5 young roosters, who aren't bad birds, and I know they could make nice meals, but my daughter would never let that...
This design is working out great especially with the heat we're having now. The whole area above the wall where everyone likes to roost is open with just wire mesh.
Need some help, I know she's a little pullet, but not sure her breed. She's the only one in the flock with blue legs. Looks like a little blue legged dove to us.. Anyone have ideas? Thx
Obviously the boys have been a little rough on her, and I'm glad we found her clutch and are happy to let her go broody. Mostly because we want more hens, but also to let her wings start to heal. Will the feathers need to fall out before the new ones come in?[/IMG]
