No, they will just walk around their house and not go in. Today I put a portable fence up; it help lead them in their house. Then I will move the fence so they can get out of the run and free range.
I think I'm finding out that my ducks have personalities of their own and I need to learn what they are. I've been treating them like chickens and reading every ones post I can't do that.
I've had nothing but chicken for 50 years. I've had runners for 6 months and have a lot to learn about them. Mine started off going in their house then they quit. I will start driving them in at night and give them a treat and see how that goes.
Miss Lydia I have a large run approximately 30' x 40'. The chickens and runners go in the run every night, and I shut the chain link gate.. The chickens go in to their house to roost where I can close their door; but the runners won't go into their house (large house not cramped) so that I can...
Thank you TSOWOATNKC Thank you for the advise I'm a newbie when it comes to Runners. I've had chickens for 50 years but ducks for about 6 months. Again thanks for your help.
drumstick diva thanks I keyed it to the proper place I just wanted to delete the wronged post. Thank you I know what to do now. Thank you you were a big help.
Thank you so much that makes me understand them better. I was expecting them to go in by them selves. I thought they would at least go in when weather was cold and wet. They do go in the run they won't go into their house.
