How to get chickens in the coop at night
Get a bag of treats, shake them vigorously within view of the birdies, then scoop out a small amount and place on ramp (or other semi-clean spot inside the coop, so they can see it when entering. Eggs bringing us closer to family and friends!
A nice side benefit of having too many eggs for my wife and I to eat...we call up friends and family asking if they would like some really great tasting, fresh eggs! So we're socializing a lot more now....thanks to those little oval gifts our hens deliver every day!- ChickensARGreat

Barred Rock thread!!
Thanks, Yooper Coop! We wish we could have roosters, but Alhambra California doesn't allow them. We recently had some success with expanding the 'engagement zone' when the barred rock and buff orpingtons interact. Our 4.5 month old golden comet (a.k.a. Red Sex Link) named appropriately "Goldie" laid her first egg this morning!
