    @cavemanrich Thank you! I currentlyuse hay, but my chickens like to kick it out. I use.grass and they leave it alone or even eat it. yes I only plan on having and keeping the three as pets. I love them too much. plus I wouldn't be able to have anymore. I have very little space.

    My hens are burrowing in mud - normal?

    Chickens love their dirt baths! My three red sex link will bathe for hours underneath our porch stairs. There's an area of nothing but dirt and they take advantage of it. Its also where their favorite place. I actually love watching them kick dirt into their inner wings.
