Yes we definitely have both of those, I actually accidentally stepped on a possum while I was pregnant, I felt so bad for it, but there was no way I was about to try and touch it. Lol
We've been looking to get a few larger traps for the coons.
Honestly that's what I've kinda discussed with DH. I know quite a few places to get one, but he seems resistant to having to do the conversion to a coop. Is there an article for that, where I can show him it shouldn't be too, too difficult?
Lurked on here for a few years, till I finally joined about 4-5 years ago. Things got crazy and I'm finally back only I've forgotten most everything I learned. 😆 looking forward to getting chickens hopefully by this next year.
Getting ready to set up the run and I can't remember how far apart...
Another reason I'm really wanting to find a breeder of heritage birds. I know myself and I'm going to want to breed toward standards.
Of course, there is no way i will expect perfection from my flock, I will feel it is my way of giving back to the community and to help provide the same...
Unfortunately, i have had someone suggest NNs before and i don't he was all that pleased with that particular option. I think they ate actually kinda cute, but i want him to be agreeable, even though he won't really be the one caring for them. I am trying to make sure he is involved in the...
Yes, thank you.
Right now I'm having to debate whether or not I'm willing to have to provide space for multiple breeds, if so I'll probably be looking onto rescuing battery hens for my egg layers.
I'd have to do more research in order to determine what birds I'd use for meat and hatching.

I am actually looking at Dorkings, right now. My greatest struggle is finding a breed that suits my needs and has an appearance that appeals to my husband.
Wow! That is too precious! I can't wait till i have my own little fluffballs to look after! I guess as far as the calmness factor goes, I'll just have to develop a no tolerance policy, as far as the roos are concerned.
I've read through the posts, but I'm not sure if this question has been answered:
Had anyone been able to find a breed mix that doesn't quite consume is weight in food?
Bielefelders seem great, except that one thing, is there any way too get a more economical bird, without losing the friendliness?
