She seems to do it in different areas around the house. She could be defending her "nesting spots" that she's laid eggs at before. Her aggressiveness seems to only be directed at my mom, which is weird.
Thank you for your help!
My dove has started to do thing thing where she will start shaking and purring, then lunge at my mom. She'll even fly after her head.
I thought it was odd and have been researching why this behavior is happening. When it does, we try feeding her and giving her some water, but she's not always...
I have read that doves can get gender confused very easily. I have a female and she does the "coo and wing twitch" but she lays eggs. As for the nesting box situation, my girl just lays wherever, but she also doesn't have a mate. She particularly likes to find our indoor fake plants and coo in...
I've had a dove for a while now, and recently she's been acting strangely- very disoriented and cooing ALL THE TIME. Yesterday we discovered an egg in one of her favorite hangout places and this morning we found another one. I was shocked at the fact that she not only had her first egg (we were...
Hello!
I recently bought some Purslane for my mom for Mother's Day. My dove was over there pecking and eating it, so I started freaking out. I read that Purslane is really good for sheep, chickens, cows, you name it, but is that the same for doves?
She seems fine but I just want to make sure...
Hey guys! My friend was out visiting someone's farm the other day and asked me what breed this was. I'm not blessed with my own chickens, but hope to help her out! It's always great to have a friend join in your search for chicken knowledge. Thanks!
I used to have a rescued duck who was all alone so I gave her a small stuffed animal. She loved that thing so much and would sleep next to it every night.
Thank you for all of your help! She (who I guess I'll call a she due to my knew information) is molting and her feathers are EVERYWHERE! Big feathers. Small feathers. They're really hard to pick up when they're just the down part.
hi! I have a ringneck dove who is supposedly a female, but also started to bow and coo. So, I thought maybe "she" could potentially be a "he". Unless females do too?
