Help! 6 mo Brahma, sudden lethargy won’t eat

He abdomen is not swollen at all. I’ve had a couple hens with water belly. I am hoping it’s just from dehydration. She is only 6 months old, and has always been very healthy, not over weight. I have not witnessed her laying an egg. I let her out of her crate yesterday and she ran to the coop...

Help! 6 mo Brahma, sudden lethargy won’t eat

Here is what her poop looks like. The yellow tint of the urine seems off to me?

Help! 6 mo Brahma, sudden lethargy won’t eat

Thank you, she has been eating blueberries today, she is scarfing them down, but won’t touch her food. She is mobile, so when I say “lethargic”, I mean she is less active than usual. She does not have lice or mites. Aside from the current symptoms she is very healthy and clean. We had a sudden...

Help! 6 mo Brahma, sudden lethargy won’t eat

Roughly 6 mo Brahma pullet. I think she is laying based on age but haven’t witnessed it. Normally a big eater (her name is Chonk). I noticed her standing alone yesterday, not eating and her face appeared pale. I separated her immediately. She will not eat or drink. Tried blueberries...

    HELP! MUSCOVY skin and bones

I don’t know if I should deworm her? Or give her antibiotics? All I have access to is Tylan, so idk if it would even help. I separated them from the chickens again in case she’s just not able to eat because of stress and pecking order. But she didn’t touch the food I gave them.

    HELP! MUSCOVY skin and bones

Please help! I adopted two Muscovys over a month ago. They both did great and were quarantined for two weeks. Seemed to be the picture of health, were laying eggs. I do not know their age, but they appear to be young. The smaller of the two and younger, from what I can tell, is now seriously...

    Bumble foot

I’ve never used iodine. The ichthamel is a drawing salve so it helps draw out the puss and infection. I’m not sure about the salt water… I don’t believe epsom “salt” is actually salt. I would do a little more research on that.

    WORMS week old chicks??

There is definitely some sort of fiber that the poop is encasing… in the bottom photo of you zoom in on the right end it can be seen.

    WORMS week old chicks??

That’s good to hear. We’ve had quite a few chicks over the years and I’ve never seen this before. When I use a tooth pick to pick it up, it holds together like a string

    WORMS week old chicks??

Hatchery? From a local feed store. I can’t pinpoint which one it is, I have yet to catch them in the act. There are only three though… two have had pasty butt that I have had to wash off twice because it was blocking their vent. 1 of these two seems more docile than the other two…. Still eating...

    Bumble foot

I’ve found surgery can make it worse unless you can keep the chicken in a sterile environment. The epsom salt soak is great and then wrap with ichthamel salve. Usually after about 5 days of treatment the bumble is almost gone, depending on the severity ☺️

    WORMS week old chicks??

I have chicks that are exactly a week old and I just found this incredibly long poop, but it’s def connected by some sort of string or something. I’ve read other posts about instestinal lining but it’s about 6-7” long…which seems to long to be lining or a worm in such a tiny chick? they have...

    EXTREME Labored Breathing! LOUD!

I was able to open up her throat really well with a bright flashlight and everything as far as I could see looked clear. The breathing is her only symptom as far as I can tell. No discharge from eyes or nose, no sneezing. But when she does drink it almost garbles a little…. I put a couple drops...

    EXTREME Labored Breathing! LOUD!

Please help me!! 2 yo hen, mixed breed. Notice this morning she sounded like she was chatting a lot. It was very low, typical happy chicken mumbling. Then I noticed it was steady, there were no breaks, and I realized it was the sound of her breathing. She appears to be eating fine, acting...
