Omg... they are the floofiest of floofy I have ever seen in a chicken (at least as chicks) ππ the other ones (EEs and Dominant Coppers), are soft with clean feather lines, and both of my orps are like big giants puffballs π
Yes, I got him with a Lavender Orp as well, who has the tiniest little gray/black comb and wattles... They really are friendly curious little ones.. Yours are so lovelyπ₯°
Yeah, we assume at this point π but they hold out the hope anyway.. he is loved one way or the otherπ this whole sexing chickens has me questioning every little thing they do π though I do believe the other 5 are pullets at this point.. he is the lucky one π
They grow so fast π₯° my kids are obsessed with them, and so long as he stays friendly-ish, he/she does a stellar job letting the ladies know of hawks and dogs nearby... though they are hoping it's still a "she" with just some rooster qualities and spunk, we will likely keep it regardless π₯°

I have 2 lovely EE, they are a little skittish but friendly nonetheless. I actually love nothing more than looking at everyone's pictures and I can't help but see the differences in what age mine should be versus what I see on some threads. I purchased the chicks (my first time with them), on...
I know it's very hard to tell at 8 weeks, particularly with Orps, but his/her demeanor is very suspicious π if she isn't a Cockrel, she is definitely going to be head honcho. So here's to another update in 8 weeks π
So, my 8 week old fluffy and extremely brave, protective, and curious Buff Orpington, came out of her coop this morning and kept opening her mouth and made a few sounds.. they did not sound like a crow but at 8 weeks old, she is very clearly in charge of the other 5, comes out of the coop first...
Thank you so much for all this information!! I see you have Colorado publications as a reference. I just moved to Oregon from Colorado and just seeing that made me homesick π I am a little worried about all the rain here and ice storms in winter. This is all a big new chick adventure π
