I have family in Antioch! My cousin & his wife are looking for local person eggs to buy eggs from. Any interest? Or anyone else in the area interested? I'm in the Reno, NV area so that doesn't work.
My condolences on the loss of Monique. I hope her hatchlings have all the characteristics which you loved about her! And each time they stir up a memory of her, i hope you smile with the thought of her.

I am always looking to meet new people, make friends, connections, learning opportunities with others within driving distance. I would welcome the chance to meet and talk about dos and don'ts regarding chickens. I have a hard time with reading material online for extending periods...
Who would you recommend since you don't recommend MPC? I don't know people in my area and there does not seem to be a local thread on the buy/sell/trade forum that I can find.
Funny...i was just browsing my pet chicken and it clicked! Thanks to all who replied about it. please do tell....where/whom shall I purchase mine from! ;)

I got my pawhut through sears (to keep it affordable)...the 7ft outdoor w/the run. If I had seen the one like yours, I would have gotten it! but, I'm liken the one I got and so are my little chicks. They're almost ready to go outside permanently; yesterday was their first day in the run (while...
@mommy2me
Hi! You're not too far away from me. It's nice to see a fairly new person posting along with me too! Are you raising for eggs or for meat too? I'm at this point, just for the eggs. But if any of mine end up being male, they'll go out to friends or family for meat.

We have a coop and run that we just set up 3 nights ago. The run isn't attached yet due to a ground leveling issue; however, it was nice enough that I took out 8 chicks outside and let them experience the coop and run. They Tuckered out after an hour and sat themselves on the roosts. They will...
