I'm Ryan, a chicken and duck owner of years. I moved to my small 21 acre farm in 2016, and just months later, I got a call that there were four chicks and two ducklings waiting for me at the post office!

Since the very start, when I opened that box and saw those six tiny little things all huddled together, I have been eager to learn more and more about poultry.

I purchase more chickens and ducks as often as I can. In June of 2020, I found myself with four little chicks in the brooder again. It was during this time when I first discovered BYC. I was so excited to find a place like this to learn and share more about my chickens, and to connect with people who share similar interests. Later that year I was motivated by my BYC friends to start over with waterfowl, which I had been taking a break from.

Today I have 14 birds. 11 chickens and 3 ducks. My hens; Joy, Jokgu, Opal, Indigo, Spinner, Cherub, Sesame, Polar, Beetle, Marble, and Puppet. My ducks; Daffodil, Poppyseed, and Pearl.


Aside from poultry, I enjoy photography, a hobby greatly influenced by my friends from BYC! This ties in with my hobby of art- I sketch portraits and animals whenever I have the chance.

In short, Chickens and ducks have such a great influence on my life, and I'm not sure where I would be without them.
