thanks for the quick reply
that's a great link for many reasons.
just wanted to make sure they were ok.
no discernible change in poop but then how can you tell? they just eat and poop and eat and poop
I was soaking my feet in a white enamel pan and the chickens all decided they would have a drink.
I let everybody have one taste and then shooed them away.
Anybody know if this could do them any good or harm?
I hang a bunch of very leafy but light weeds in the grow out pen and the chicks jump up to devour them. It's the same weeds the hens prefer when they're out roaming.
Easier than chopping things I can just throw to the hens.
Weeds pull up easily.
I noticed some wetness on one of my chick's wings this afternoon. Thought is might just be water but it's sticky so I'm guessing she got pecked and it's blood. She seems find and it's fairly dry. Not red just dried looking. No obvious wound.
I spent quite a bit of time in the coop with them...
I put my 6 week old chicks in a 4' high pen under a tree for a couple of hours in the afternoon. It's lattice with bird netting on the sides until they are big enough not to get through the holes. No cover on the top.
Today there was a crow roosting and cawing loudly above them so I shoo'd him...
