Hi, I know this is a long shot, but do you still happen to have a coop and shelter to give away? We just moved to Louisiana (between Lafayette and Baton Rouge) and are getting new chicks in a couple weeks. Thanks!
Hi guys, I need to rehome my australorp roo. He is great with the ladies but is being picked on by the other roo and it's causing havoc. I'm in NC and would prefer not to ship him. He is about 11 months old and is beautiful! Please let me know if you are interested in him. I'm willing to drive...
Hi guys, I'm not sure if this is the right spot to put this, but I need to rehome my australorp roo. He is great with the ladies but is being picked on by the other roo and it's causing havoc. I'm in NC and would prefer not to ship him. He is about 11 months old and is beautiful! Please PM me...
Thanks! I'll start checking those threads out. I would just hate to try one, kill it accidently and it turn out to be a girl anyway! Maybe I should wait until I've had chickens a bit longer before caponizing! :P
Kassaundra, this is what I'm having the HARDEST time with. I've only had chooks for a year so I'm sure some of it comes from experience, but how on earth can you tell? I'm basically clueless until they start crowing. Is there some resource you can point me to to help me learn? Otherwise all my...
Just out of curiosity, what do you want all those free roosters for?

Super helpful! I've been lurking on this thread for months now and I'm planning on trying my first caponization this weekend. I gave an honest attempt to find him a home, but oddly nobody wants a rooster :P He's a bit old for it and has been kazoo crowing for a week, but I figure I might as well...
OK, Dusty is starting to kazoo-crow, so it's official... he has to go! I'll try to get some better pics on here soon. He's a sweetie and just really needs a new home. Thanks for looking! :)
Needing to rehome an EE that is about 3-4 months old. Her name is Dustina, thanks to feather duster feet, but I suspect SHE is a HE and I cannot have a rooster. Friendly and likes people. Beautiful barred coloring with bronze undertones in the sunlight. Gorgeous and friendly... what's not to...
Needing to rehome an EE that is about 3-4 months old. Her name is Dustina, thanks to her feather duster feet! French Marans cross Auracana. She came to me about 3 weeks ago and has been doing her quarantine period with no signs of illness noted. The problem is that I'm starting to heavily...
