I have never had a rooster jumping over the fence attack a person, in fact roosters are not that high on the food chain. In theory, anything above on the food chain can cause more damage to a person, that include, but not limit to: cats, dogs, foxes, wolves, eagles etc, etc.

One hidden cost of raising chickens is the land cost. Depends on where you live, it can get quite expensive.
With that said, a lot people keep a lawn for aesthetic value and chickens as pets. Raising chickens is a healthy hobby that brings people who choose to do it happiness.

You can provide a dish of crushed oyster shells for your birds if you have not already. Pullets/hens need calcium to form egg shells. Some pullets/hens ability to absorb calcium from food are better than the others, thus the need to provide extra calcium source for the birds that need it.
