    Reba lived in the house for almost a year. She recovered completely (a miracle), except for a limp. I did have some difficulty introducing her back into the flock, as they pecked her. I then put her in the coop inside a wire dog kennel and only let her out with them under supervision...

    I never wash my eggs. I never even heard of washing eggs. I thought it would ruin the egg if you washed it.

    I think you are right Mis Lydia about the others thinking of her as the "weak link". She may never be able to go back out with them. I'm in the process now of ordering a chicken diaper so she can walk around the house during cold weather.

    I have a collie/shepard mix and a Jack Russell. Both are good around the chickens. Both "had the talk" when I brought the chickens home. I think any dog will be okay with proper training. ONce they realize that they are part of "the herd" that they are responsible for. Just like the cats...

    I haven't yet figured out how this forum works. I see some people have pictures to the left, and a signature block with a listing of all their critters. I would like to do something like that. Can someone tell me how that is done?
