    Got it. Thank you! It definitely has been a learning experience for me-becoming familiar with chick behaviour - their mannerisms and preferences. Chick behaviour is actually pretty interesting to observe!

    Their coop materials are on the way...I'll be assembling it this weekend, so they will be out of the house soon and away from strings and fuzz...they are just toddlers I guess and curious. That's probably a good thing.

    The fibers wont break down but will pass thru them ok I hope? I mean, the fuzz wont collect inside them and have to be removed now does it? I hope not! Hope I'm catching this habit early.

    I don't know how much they are actually removing and ingesting. I don't think it's much, but just want to curb the behavior before it causes problems. They will be outdoors soon. Its just that they are obsessed with fuzzy things and literally wont stop even if I move them, they come right back...

    Yes, the heat is a problem. Its 90 at least everyday now and reaches triple digits too. I've been putting ice in their waterer to give them some relief when they go on field trips outdoors.

    Hmm...yes..we certainly have diversity in opinions here! Don't know what to do. Guess I'd feel a lot better if they had a Momma with them just in case. I think it's a balance between starting them off right (inside) but not waiting too long (out of fear) to let them live the way they were...

    "They just need the choice of warmth" that makes sense...do you think a heat light, shavings, or straw is best? They don't really burrow. They like to huddle together though. I wasn't planning on running electricity to the coop, but will if I need to.

    how interesting! I'm so glad I asked the question. They really seem ready to go out. Ive let them walk around outside before and can tell they are super happy scratching, foraging, sunbathing :)

    Thank you! you know, that's one of my concerns: they love to "indoor forage" but I know they will be so happy foraging outside!
