pullets or roos - 18 weeks orps & an EE

Hello everyone! I thought I had orpington pullets, but now I'm thinking roos. I was going to sell two orps (one not pictured), but would like some help with identifying these three. The EE looking one I'm not even sure is an EE. Thanks for your help. Not even sure what this one is...

    Fighting Silkie hens

My silkies did this too! For a couple of days the non-mom was attacking the mom and it was getting bloody. We ended up putting the mean one in a small cage in the chicken yard for a couple of hours to calm down, and that seemed to work. Good luck!

We originally got chickens because we wanted eggs, but they are also incredibly entertaining and good for the garden! I feel more like they are livestock, because we killed our mean rooster without hesitation and when the current roo gets cheeky (which is rare) I always ask him how he would...

Hi everyone! I'm trying to catch up on all the cute chick and baby pics. I am wondering if there are any people that sell day-old flowerhen chicks in the northern california area (silkies went broody again...) Cheers, Christina

12 wk EE mutt; thinking it's a roo; any guesses?

Hi everyone, I have this little chicken that I'm thinking is a roo, but would like a second opinion before I give him/her away. Thanks!

Get a pair of attack llamas I used to live above the lighthouse at Point Reyes; $63 was subtracted from rent each month due to "lack of privacy". What it really should have said was, "people will completely disregard the residence sign and try to walk into your house frequently." If the door...

Thanks Ron and Deb for this idea (and also Ali for the blukote idea); I will try the feed store today and look for the gel Vetericyn; Its also good to hear some survival stories! On a happier note - why raise ducks? Is it because they are friendly? Do the eggs taste better?

Hi other chicken folks: Don't really know where to start this but: two days ago one of my hens got attacked by a pit bull; there's a pretty big piece of skin missing from under her wing. I've read over the chicken injuries section, talked to my sis the vet tech, and have been monitoring the...

Ok, I'm not sure about etiquette here, but thanks everyone for the ideas and welcome! Its so neat that people close by like Dunsmuir and Yreka are interested in chickens too! I grew up in Chicago so I never got to do 4H or anything like that so I'm a little jealous, OR4-H mom. Sorry about...

Hey, thanks for the welcome! Basically I am looking for a pet rooster to look over my hens; if he can tolerate being picked up by children, stand up to dogs, and not beat up on the silkies I would be happy. We have the dog issue under control right now, but Mt. Shasta is the world's largest...

Hi fellow Nor-Cal-ers (is that a word)?, There are so many cute chickens on this page! Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have been to the small animal swap in Anderson; I am looking to find a new roo and was wondering if anyone knows whether it would be possible to find one there...
