My chicken is acting lethargic, and is a little puffed up. She has lost a lot of color in her face and her comb and gobble have shrivled up like the blood got sucked out of them, (they are not dry. I was able to message them a little and they took on a similar appearence their natural shape)...
Thanks guys, your a real help. I'll make sure to keep an eye out.
and sorry about your rooster. I have a one of a kind rooster that's as gentle as they get, and it would kill me to lose him, so I sympathize with your loss.
I came home today and found one of my brs dead. Most of her neck was missing but nothing else had seemingly been touched. Is this the signs of a hawk attack?
No such thing as a stupid question when looking for help.
I know right! Thanks!
The question was out of curiosity!
In the future watch your language on this FAMILY FORUM!!!

I have a rooster,(a "hybrid") and a female astrolop, (not sure about spelling), that he loves to make sexy-time with.
whats getting me is that she never sits on her eggs for long, does this mean that he is sterile?
If hes not can I incubate the eggs?
Can you tell if an egg is fertile without...
This morning i went to pull out 2 of the seabrights to give to a foster parent, an retired man, trying to get his flock started, and the seabright we decided to keep started crowing!
It sounded like a car horn..........compared to a freight train,(My: great white rooster!), it wasn't bad at all...
My white silkie hen just hatched out 5 chicks last night. The proud papa is a rhode island red.
Now that's an aquerd sight!
BTW: the mix looks way better than the silkies themselves!
:lol:yep their boys.
Do they crow a lot, (as in repetitively for hours), and are they as loud as an average rooster say 4-5lbs.?
BTW: Our neighbors don't mind our "Great White Rooster"!
my 3 chicks all have fairly dark LEGS, some black on the base of the feet tho. the head spot is almost identical on all 3 except one, and is in a upside down "U" shape starting with the base of the "U"starting at the end near the beak.
Ill try to get pics.
Her and her sister both have really messed up tail feathers, they keep breaking in half!!
I think they are Black Australorp, the others comb is a lot smaller.....a lot!
I couldn't stop laughing, when you put up
I wonder if he could be a cross of the two? I know the feedstore I got him from gets their chicks from a local lady. She has EE, RIR, Game, Silkies....not sure what else.
I am pretty, definitely sure of what you have. A (RIR/GAME) these are the worst...
