    Weird sack under chickens chin

This chicken is older and I adopted her bc she was the only one left in her flock. She seems to have this big wobbly sack hanging where wattles would be. Does not appear to be wattles or crop. Old owner said they think it’s always been there. Any ideas? It’s black and has feathers

Fully formed egg covered with membrane

The first egg was a normal, solid, egg. Around it was like a very soft shell. It wasn’t completely surrounding the egg, but I think they had been picking at it. It was more like a skin/ membrane around the egg.

Fully formed egg covered with membrane

I think you’re right but in most cases it’s a full shell. I just hope it’s not harmful to her. I hope she’s just figuring it out.

Hi! My babies are about 8 weeks and I’m getting ready to integrate them with the biggies. I obviously can’t feed them two separate foods as I’m sure they’ll munch on whatever is around. How do I handle this? please help !!

    Chick with persistent diarrhea, help!

Hi! I have four chicks, five weeks old. Brooder between 65-75 degrees. I’ve noticed that one of them has persistent watery diarrhea, really since the beginning. She is eating and drinking well, growing at the same rate of the other chicks. She has access to snacks since four weeks, but also...

    Babies and cold weather

Hi! I live in Michigan, and have adopted four baby isa browns. They are just over a week old now. Temperatures will really start to drop drastically in October. Will they be ready to survive a winter in the coop? Should I keep them in my garage? Or my basement? I have two other ladies already in...

    My best egg layer quit!

She seems to pick there when she’s stressed in the past. When I put no peck on it stops. I checked for mites and eggs under their wings and around their vents. I didn’t see anything, but will check their roost bar tonight. Thanks for the tip.
