If it is 9.5 weeks old like the first one, I would say that it's a cockerel. It would have been interesting to see the tail. Anyway you'll know in a couple of weeks.
It would be interesting to know the inbreeding coefficients based on all the different types of breeding (brother X sister - father/mother X daughter/son - grandfather/grandmother X niece/nephew etc) in order to calculate the "limit" that it's better not to transgress.
Australorp is more slender like the one I have in my profile's photo. Orpingtons are bigger and fluffier so the body-shape is different. I think yours is an English standard Orpington.
LOL  However I really like blue and splash colours and fortunately Australorp has got also blue and splash varieties but at the moment I have only the black one
Your chicks are really cute. So you have also an Orpington roo in your flock?
That make sense, you can work on this breed and also have purebred chicks :)
Your flock is beautiful, congrats! :wee What breed/cross is your rooster? He seems pretty huge! Yes, you are probably right cause I can imagine that a Silkie cross and an Isa have two different types of plumage
Yes but my Australorps do not have this kind of problem. Instead the lack of feathers on the back of Isas is quite marked and it's not a pretty sight. That's why I thought it was a problem of difference of size. However I'll trim his spurs ;)
