Maybe remove the poop board completely and leave bottom open for more air? Make sure silkies can reach their roosts.

I would look at putting both coops in a larger run, dog kennels are often recommended.

Where are you from? How are you winters? (If mild could you just forget the door and place the entire coop in a predator proof run??)
Maybe start looking on Craigslist, Facebook, nextdoor for a door? Hopefully with a frame? Or build the frame?
The city website doesn’t mention needing a permit, just keeping the coop 35’ from residences and 5 hens, no rooster…
