Yes and they were starlings. They love to get into places. I just didn’t expect them to be dumb enough to die from not being able to find their way back out haha
They may have gotten trapped because I’ve chased out cardinals in there several times when they couldn’t figure out how to get back out. These were all starlings. There wasn’t any mouse poison in there but I guess they could’ve gotten into it somewhere else. It’s very strange.
I’m not sure. It’s a possibility because back when the chicken used to be in there I’d have a time trying to get birds out sometimes because they’d forget how they got in.
We recently got a new run and coop for our flock. Their old area has been empty for a couple of weeks now. We just went in to clean it up some because we have a bully that needs to be separated, and there were like 10 wild dead birds in the coop/run 😳. Does this mean they were diseased and we...
We live in Ohio so we have all of the above haha and yes the one gap is at the top of a door. The gap between the red and roof of the run is about the same I just couldn’t get a good picture.
Got a new coop and run and they left some gaps. It is hard to see, but there is about an inch or two gap between the coop and the run and the more obvious one around the door. Would a rubber weatherstrip be good enough or would we need something stronger?
Thanks for the info! Everything I do somehow something rare happens so I’m not even surprised anymore haha. But before I saw this I did decide to go ahead and replace the water because it was just freaking me out. I never did see anything solid but the water was murky with a yellow tint so it...
This is my first time water glassing eggs. I went to get some out and one was cracked. When I went to remove it, it completely opened up and what looked like cloudy water came out of it, no egg white or yolk…do I need to replace the water now? The shell didn’t have a smell at all so I’m really...
That’s what I thought. I just wanted to make sure so I know what I’m dealing with. We’ve had chickens for about 1.5 years and this is our first loss, so it’s a hard one. Especially since my son loves them like pets. Especially Blackberry of course.
Does anyone know what killed my poor Blackberry? I’m assuming a hawk but I’m not sure. I’m hoping someone can tell from her injuries. She’s my 7 year old son’s favorite chicken of course. 😢
