That's extremely interesting! It's amazing how hard it is to incubate and the mama hen just sits on them and they pretty much all hatch. I really hope one of mine goes broody so I don't have to go through this hassle lol. With my luck, the whole bunch of them will go broody at the same time!
I'm sorry I don't know what internal pipped looks like or the correct position. I had to rip the membrane, it wasn't easy to get to the chick, and it was white. The shells also broke into little pieces when I cracked them. Does that mean shrink wrapped?
I have the same issue. Our recent hatch out of 40, 9 hatched and they hatched on day 21! I have no advice but wanted to let you know you're not alone with this issue.
