Ended Funny Chicken Name Contest - Win 60 lbs of Grubbly Layer Feed From GrubblyFarms

I forgot to say that Fun Sheriff is also making SURE nobody is having any fun that she's not having! (NOW her name makes more sense to everyone else! LoL! 🤣) I've seen her stomp toward other chickens who are near me and she seemed to be griping at them for whatever reason before stomping back...

Ended Funny Chicken Name Contest - Win 60 lbs of Grubbly Layer Feed From GrubblyFarms

This is Fun Sheriff, named because no matter WHAT I'm doing, she's always RIGHT THERE, making sure I'm not up to anything sketchy. She either comes running up the second I walk into the room, or she's photobombing with her judgey face on.

    Cream Legbar Confusion

I bought my first batch of chicks (all from one hatchery) and they arrived in June. They all looked the same size. I have 2 cream legbars. Now, as they are all growing, one of my CLs is smaller than the rest, and is also looks different than the other CL. Yes, she has always seemed as...

Marans, Barnevelders, or Welsummers? Olive Eggers?

I agree with the website vs REAL ship dates., as my confirmation said shipping was a week later than it said on the site. But that's ok - I'd rather they focus on the chicks than the website. :thumbsup

    Mite Defense / Roosting Bars

Hmmmmmm.... I guess I need to keep on researching. So when you say tree branches are preferable to 2x4s, what diameter should the tree branches be? Thank you!

    Mite Defense / Roosting Bars

I'm new here, but our extensive research tells us that PVC is not a good idea at all. As sloanbychoice said, 2x4s are commonly recommended for feet structure, chicken preference, warmth, and stability. We are currently building our coop, too, and we will be using 2x4s for the roosts. 🐥
