Hi, Everyone! I'm new to both this site and chickens. I've wanted chickens forEVER and am finally getting my wish. We are starting work on building our coop & run this weekend and our first batch of egg-laying chicksters will be here early June. I am BEYOND excited!! My avatar is a lie, as I don't have my own eggs yet. But I did buy them! 
Believe me, the minute my new timesuckers arrive, I will be changing my pic.
We are a family of 4 and are pretty self-sufficient. We have 4 dogs and 3 cats, plus we foster dogs for a local-ish rescue (and I am a doggy doula). I am a basketweaver, soapmaker, quilter, canner, and great cook & baker. Too bad all of these things will be flung at a very high rate of speed to the back burner when my wee ones arrive!
Thank you for letting me in - I have already read a bunch of posts and will continue filling my head with your knowledge. Thanks again - have a fab weekend!
