I think possible cuckoo Maran? I only say that bc we got him from tractor supply last year and Ik I bought one labeled as that BUT they also sold me him as a pullet soooo 😅
Ah I should have waited a little. It was like 7pm when I did it so an hour away from sunset. I put the eggs in there before her so they just sitting in her new nest that she’s never used before. Yes I candles and they are all developing so far
Hey everyone! So I have a chicken that went broody (our first broody hen so it was really just an experiment) so I gave her some quail eggs to sit on. She’s been doing great and they are about a week from hatching when today I noticed the other chickens got to over half of them (I check daily so...
Update. Here’s the same guy today. He’s not crowing yet and it looks like little tiny dots where his spurs are supposed to be. I have another rooster who is just 2 weeks younger and has full on spurs and been crowing for at least 2 months now. Are we still sure he’s a he?
That’s what we ended up doing too! And I’m pretty sure it’s the same one as yours haha! Definitely so much better. We were given these chickens along with that tractor supply coop. I’m so glad I didn’t pay for it. It’s actually cheaper to get the shed then the coop from tsc. Crazy!
I don’t. They have been like that since we got them. We just upgraded their coop to give them more room and all but the smaller gray one is starting to grow back their feathers. They now have a 10x10 coop and a pretty decent size run to play in
Yeah I’m pretty sure it is. Almost 2 years old it should be more obvious is it’s a rooster right? I almost got excited that it may be a rare silent rooster. I was ready to fire up the incubator 🤣
We thought so too when it was young but we have never heard a crow, it only does it that that one other chicken, and it’s definitely not protective. Those two or the most skittish of the bunch. Plus in the summer we had enough eggs a day accounting for each chicken
So I have one hen that always mounts another hen. Always the same one trying to mount the same hen. It’s the 2 gray ones. Is this normal?? Not sure if you can tell the difference in the picture but the instigator is the one with the larger comb. They are about a year and a half old. We’ve never...
