Anyone?
I treated them with Wazine just to get rid of any other bugs... but they still have all the same symptoms of gapeworm (getting worse). Crops are all normal. They are all still trying to eat & drink fortunately. So...
I bought the 1.87% Ivermectin paste for horses at TSC ("Horse...
They are shaking their heads, stratching their beaks on the ground, stretching out their necks and almost like yawning... and having trouble keeping their food in their beaks. They are still trying to eat & drink though.
My girls appear to all have gapeworm and I'm wanting to treat them with Ivermectin. I'd like to add it to their drinking water but am having a hard time coming up with dosages. And does anyone know if I'd buy the pour or the injectable?
There's so much info out on the web -- 1%, 5%, pour on...
Good question! I was wondering the same thing. I plan on using it this weekend when I clean out our coop -- but I wasn't sure how much to use (we do the deep litter method and I'll be adding new shavings on top of the old). Do I just sprinkle a little in and stir it all around?? I can't wait...
We just put our 5 wk old chicks out a few days ago (woohoo!), and I could hardly wait to get in the living room -- open up the windows for some fresh air -- and super vacuum! The dust was sooo gross and it was everywhere! The nice fresh air smell is just now starting to come back. lol
I...
I've had the same thing happen several times to me too!
I made the mistake of buying this feeder right off the bat (newbie chick owner here) and had to rescue several chicks from the inside of the feeder. They were scared and I just knew for sure that they were dead. Luckily, they were...
We bought our 10 chicks from TSC last month from the assorted pullet bin. Most of them had stripes down their backs, which I believe they are red sex links (from Privett Hatchery). Only 3 looked different with very faint stripes. I'm hoping they're all girls too.
Thanks to all of you who responded!
Just wanted to update and tell you that all 10 of them went *crazy* over those scrambled eggs! And I thought my human kids loved eggs! lol They mauled every single piece until they were all gone. It was funny watching them too.
Just wondering if I can feed my ~3 week old chicks leftover scrambled eggs.
If so, do I need to super mash them up? And provide grit or what? I'm a newbie -- and don't want to hurt em.
Thanks!
Just figured out how to post pics.
So here's a pic of my girls from yesterday (well, I hope they're girls anyways!). I have one that is also bigger & lighter than the rest -- she's in the front middle on the group. It's neat to see them grow and get colors in their new feathers... they were...
First time post -- so I hope I do this right...
But just wanted to chime in and say that I picked up 10 chicks from the TSC 2 weeks ago -- in the assorted pullet bin -- that look *exactly* like your chicks. I know mine came from Privett Hatchery, and from what I've researched, they appear to...
