Went out to the coop to check on chickens. Our Great Pyrenees digs up an area in the coop and lays in it to stay cool. My chickens LOVE the areas he digs up and will take dust baths in it as well. Sometimes the chickens will wait patiently for him to move and then claim his spot. The dog will also race them to the spot if he sees they are heading towards it and lie down quickly.

My Great Pyr just got rehomed. My father hated her, and after a long battle she finally went.

She now lives at a place with a lot of kids where she can be happy and energetic. But I miss her dearly, and I feel the animals are never safe without her now.

Sorry to hear about your dog! They can definately be stubborn and hard to handle sometimes. We have recently had a problem with him running through our underground electric fence which has never been an issue before.

How old is he?We have one who is 7 months old and he's too playful to be with the chickens.

Our Diesel is now 8 months old. He is going through an ugly teenage stage. He is getting huge. He loves to dig up cool dirt and sleep just like yours. He even helps me gather the teenage guineas to put them up at night. Good boy!!!
