    Looking for an Isbar!

Hope this post is ok to be here. Are there any isbar breeders (also known as Silverudd's Blues) in Kentucky or southern Indiana? Might consider making the trip to northern Tennessee as well. We really really want to add some isbar pullets to our flock, really need chick's, 1-2 weeks old. Thanks...

Adult Coturnix Quail with possible wry neck??

Hi all! I have a sick quail on my hands. She was all fluffed up like she was cold yesterday but was otherwise acting fine and alert. Today I found her with her head turned back like she was sleeping. When she turned around to look at me, her head and neck were flopping all over, side to side...

I'll try to post a pic of the setup, but byc has something against me getting pictures on here at times lol.

    Sick chicks!

I hatched out my first clutch of eggs using an incubator. The little giant still air brand. Since I was new and being as the first few days the eggs didn't have the right temp I just kinda assumed none would hatch. 3 out of 18 did. One died the day I brought them out of the incubator, it never...

    Ayam Cemani Eggs

I've been debating on adding an ayam Cemani or two to my flock, does anybody know what color their eggs are?? I've seen things that say they lay dark almost black eggs and others say they lay cream colored eggs. Anybody know for sure or actually have them?

    Too hot for eggs??

Thank you all! I do free range them in turns since they dont all get along, but their coops and yards have shade. The temps went back down to 60's and lower 70's. A good rain + a slight cool down has gotten them back to normal :)

    Too hot for eggs??

So here in Kentucky our temps have just gone from 50s&60s to 80s. And suddenly I've gone from getting 7-8 eggs a day to 4. They have plenty of food, water, and shade. Can the spring/summer heat affect their egg production?

No worries! I've never heard of the breed and don't know much about medicating chickens myself

    Adding a new roo, tips?

I wish my hens had gotten that message! Lol. I think the problem is that my new roo isn't fully mature yet. He was born around Christmas time is what the lady said that I bought him from

    Adding a new roo, tips?

I would deffinitely keep him in the coop for a few days so he'll understand home. I have our boy in a smaller tractor next to the girl's coop, and while they were out free ranging I let him out to see if theyd get along. 2 of them didnt pay him much attention but my golden laced wyandotte ran...

    First time with incubator help!

Well I tried 3x to post a picture but my phone and byc hate each other. After talking to a friend on the phone I grabbed a meat thermometer and set it in one of the tiny vent holes. Turns out the built in thermometer is very close to being correct! I'm leaving it in there till I check the...

    First time with incubator help!

Great! I figured out how I might be able to get the temp up to 99.5. Since having the "set" temp on 99.5 was only getting us up to 98.9 and occasionally 99.1, I found if you hold down the set button it then allows you to up or down the set temp so I put the set tempt to 100.1, hopefully that'll...
