I have 8 new chicks that will eventually need to be integrated in with my established flock. This is the first year that I have a rooster to contend with. Transitioning has been easy before, but I am worried about the safety of the chicks with the rooster. Any recommendations on how to easily...

    verm-x experience?

My chickens have a heavy worm burden, as confirmed by the lab that I use at work. ( I am a small animal vet tech and we have a lab that ran a fecal check for me. Unfortunatly, I don't really have a chicken vet. One of the vets that I work for is trying her very best to help, but she might be...

I checked the bottoms of his feet and they look fine. He also has one tiny spot by his right ear. He is in with two 12 week old girls and there is no...

two chickens dead with in two weeks

Palpated the abdomen, but did not feel anything unusual. Performed a necropsy to day. Found small pieces of plastic in the gizzard, so I am wondering if that wasn't the cause. Both the crop and the gizzard were packed with food. Who knows... Just hoping that I do not loose anymore...

two chickens dead with in two weeks

I am new to chickens and started out with 6 chicks. All were healthy and thriving. The all started laying with in a few days of each other and laid well for about 2 weeks. Then one day, I found one dead on the floor of the coop. Then today, two weeks later, I found another one dead in their...
