    Show off your Peas!

We have some that drop in our yard almost daily. We think that they are roosting in the mahogany trees at the back of our property. They are pretty to watch. Sometimes they wander right up to the house, and peep in through our windows!! LOL I have no idea how many there are in total but I only...

Nervous about letting them free range

Hi Melliott, I was nervous about letting my chickens run wild, too, so I understand how you're feeling. I noticed when mine were younger ( about two/three months old), that they didnt like being out in the open and went straight for the shrubs and stayed under their branches. Now that they are...

Has anyone had this problem? My dog is eating all the vegetables that I have buried in my compost! She has just discovered my new compost heap, the little bugger. She will sit there and watch me bury the scraps, and then in the dark of the night, she has dug it all up, and has gobbled on most of...

How do you store your poultry feed?

I have mine in a plastic garbage bin.I got it from the dump shop for $4 So far, no rodents have dicovered it, but I'm thinking of getting one of those ultra sonic machines to deter them. They are a great idea! I have to get one.

Is 15 weeks too early to lay, is this normal behaviour?

I bought some online and its getting expressed posted to me tomorrow. The girls all seem fine at the moment, but I am not taking any risks! I called three places today, and asked all three if they had anything to treat coccidiosis. One said she had no idea where she would buy it from (And thats...

Is 15 weeks too early to lay, is this normal behaviour?

How ridiculous! No feed store has anything to treat coccidiosis. They have to order it in.A vet wont sell me anything for it either,( without a consult, and I will have to pay for that on top of the medication) I will have to order it in from the feed store and hope the other girls dont show any...

    Little Chick unable to walk.

Hi Everyone, I have been reading a lot of posts on here, and its sad that my first ever post is about my sick girl. I have been reading up on what I can do for my little Morticia. She's been to the vet 4 days ago and is on antibiotics. The vet said she had a virus, but I can't remember what...
