    Our two austrolops are TINY, laying TINY EGGS. Is this ok to eat? They are the size of pigeons. Like, nyc pigeons.

    Yes! Again, live and learn. When sun goes down and they head to the coop, we close them in both sides. A "coop inside a coop". We let them free range for about 3-4 hours before sun goes down. Until then, there is an outside "run" we move around the yard. But they are well protected now. I...

    New Here, was directed from new membership for breed ID....

    So, attached are two pictures. One is ALL black, beak, legs, comb, feathers. I wanted buff orpingtons but got these. Someone said cochin bantam, someone else said australorp? Any ideas from the experts? And, thank you.

    Seems like the guy at TSC really had no clue. Hope the bantams are good birds, I'll do my research. We got the rocks, wanted the buff orpington, too. Next time I'll go w/reputable breeder I guess.
