Treading my bratty hen with another hen - will it work?

Hi, We had a flock of 5 chickens then a raccoon killed the top hen. Now we have 4 wyandottes and one RIR. One of the wyandottes assumed the top hen spot and is really mean to the RIR to the point of injury and will not allow her to food and water. Have tried segregating the mean hen but it...

I got our first egg yesterday from my RIR that was born mid-May! I was so excited. But no egg today ... does it take a while to be a daily event or what should I expect? Now if my SLW's will start to lay then I will be happy!

Question on SLW irridesient green colors

Hi, I have four 12 week old SLWs and I suspect one or two are cockerels but it is still hard to tell and no crowing yet. Are these Silver Laced Wyandottes?

I have four SLW that are now 9-10 weeks old. I think both your chicks are SLW's. I had one that was big, two average and one very small chick. But I am a newbie to chickens as these are our first go round so may not be right here ???!!

Chest bumping ... only Roo behavior?

Hi, I have five 8 week old chickens and not sure girls or boys. But today saw 3 of them doing the chest bumping dance thing and so now suspect they are boys. Do pullets do the chest bump or am I right to suspect cockerels? Thanks, Mary
