He was eating today so maybe there is still hope. Unfortunately we are in for another drastic weather change today into tonight.
Thanks for the advice.
I live in NE CO and we have had drastic weather changes in the last few weeks. One day it is 70 and the next it is -6. Today I noticed that one of my Fowl wasn't acting right. He is all hunkered down and I can pick him up. When I did he was breathing hard. What can I treat him with? I am...
I let mine set 3 days. I had them in an egg carton with one end propped up. I would rotate 2-3 times a day. I had 9 of 11 hatch. Other eggs that I didn't do this with I had none hatch. Good luck.
I ordered eggs off of ebay from 3 different people. I put 6 in the incubator from 2 different people and 8 from another. I had 4 of 6 and 5 of 6 hatch. 0 of 8. If I hadn't ordered that last 8 to fill my incubator I would of had over 75% hatch rate. I think that is really good. Can't wait...
What kind of incubator do you have? I have read different things, some say to leave the chick because it will cause the others to want to hatch. I always worry that it will get to "rough".
I did notice that the ones in the middle of the incubator were the ones that were alive at day 4. The one that is still alive was in the middle. I had ventilation and it had been cleaned. Makes me wonder if it was a heating element thing. Thanks.
I decided to try and hatch some of my own duck eggs. They are Black Swedish, Welsh, and Runner crosses. At day 4 out of 19 I had 7-8 that had strong babies. I candled tonight which would be day 8 and all but 1 died. Any ideas on why? According to my temp guage, the temp was around 99, never...
I have read many different things and would like your opinion. What temp and humidity do you set your eggs at? When they go on lock down what do you increase it too? I am going to try and hatch some of my own duck eggs.
Thank you
