We have a Rhode Island red that is about 2years old. The last couple of months she has only layed a hand full of eggs and feathers around her vent always have poop on them. sometimes she does stand on 1 leg and her comb is slightly pale. Could she be egg bound?

The feed bag says no less than 16% protein and they just finished a 50 pound bag and I only have 2 hens. I just bought a new bag at a different feed store that is Purina layer mash and it also says no less than 16%. She never did loose any feathers but our other one did and and all feathers...

XxMingirlxX Thank you, I didn't even think about moulting. That must be what is going on.

We also have 2 hens and both have stopped laying eggs. One was loosing feathers but neither have been hanging out in the nesting box so I'm not sure if they would be considered Broody.

We have a small coop we put together from a kit but it doesn't have any spots for them to roost on. How high above the floor in the house should I install 1?
