    I Have a Fox Problem

Maybe in WI you can't trap a fox , but in NY if they are killing your animals you can shoot them legally as a nuisance. Same as coyotes.

The ever changing wattle color ...????

I have 5 SLWs and a couple love sitting on my lap. Lately I've noticed their wattles start out pink and fleshy and in a couple minutes or less , they'll be the nicest deep red. I always associated pink pale wattles to sickness. We've had a couple sick birds and always had the pale wattles...

    spots on eggs

sorry this isn't exactly an emergency or injury, but I noticed little raised spots on some of my eggs. 2 RIR's and 3 BO's are laying and not sure what eggs come from what birds and not even sure it matters. The spots are raised and when I scratch them they almost look like extra calcium deposits...

I have 2 RIR's and 3 BO's. 6 more SLW's but they are younger. My RIR's I believe are laying nice eggs. My BO's are starting to lay now and I've had a few eggs with balloon outsides if you will. Like a balloon instead of a hard shell. I'm guessing this is normal and after the first few the shells...

hen or rooster...that is the question

These girls (I think) were bought together mid April. The one on the left shows signs of being a boy but I'm just not experienced enough to tell. The butt feathers look the same and there's no spurs on the legs. But the left one's waddle are noticeably bigger and she/he is more vocal than all 5...
