Harvesting some as Cornish game hens

First time raising Cornish crosses and my middle DD ( my partner in this project ) and I decided we’d process a few as Game Hens last Thursday. It went fairly well over all, we hand plucked them. I’ve had them resting in the fridge, now in a brine and putting them on the rotisserie tonight.

I’m pretty sure I’m dealing with respiratory disease with my 2 week old Cornish crosses, help, advice appreciated.

They turned 2 weeks old yesterday, they will need to go back in the brooder for the night .. we have strong thunderstorms and winds moving in tonight. Everyone seems pretty comfortable right now, not directly under the lights .. but scattered around. Some hop out and free range and bit, then run...

Ok, so they are out in the run for the first time .. it’s in the 70’s out. Hauling all those chickens out there in totes was fun 🤪🤪 I have two hung heat lamps in case anyone is cold .. but a lot seem to be in the sunshine. I have the door open to the grassy area set up for them, so far no...

Thank you for the help, once it warms up today I am going to try getting them out of the brooder for a bit. My vet is up for ordering me Tylan, do you think I should dose them?

I’m not sure what’s funny about me asking if Infectious Bronchitis in chickens is a Coronavirus, from what I read it seems to be. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks, I have read that the sneezing is common, the raspiness is what I was worried about.

    Cornish cross feeding schedule problems.

Thank you! I will check this out. The batch I have now have actually adjusted to the heating lamps at night and aren’t really very active. What I’ve been doing is turning the cottage lights on when I go in to feed them and leave them on for the day .. at 7 pm I turn those lights off so they just...

Thank you for the help, yes .. If I could go back I think I would have started with a group of 10-20. Right now I don’t have layers, so this is contained to just this flock. I’m going to contact our vet when she opens this morning and see if she can help. We’ve known her a long time, she has a...

I had wondered that, but I’ve raised all my layers on pine shavings and have never dealt with this before. This is my first batch of meat birds, I just want them to be healthy.

Hope this works .. It actually sounds a lot louder on the video than it is really is, but that’s the raspy sound .. the mic is amplifying the noise. 😕

I’m having a hard time with these chickens, everything I‘ve raised up until now has been easy compared to these meat birds. I have 39, they turned 2 weeks old today. They all look fine, have been active, are eating, poop is fine, no blood. I have kept their brooder super clean, offered clean...

    Cornish cross feeding schedule problems.

Thanks, I’m hoping I can get them through their time here as healthy as possible. I will check out and read up on fermented feed. I read ACV in their water helped with digestion, so I’ve been implementing that.
