I’m pretty sure I’m dealing with respiratory disease with my 2 week old Cornish crosses, help, advice appreciated.

I’m not sure what’s funny about me asking if Infectious Bronchitis in chickens is a Coronavirus, from what I read it seems to be. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Change the bedding, get them some good fresh air, raise the lights a little. Give it a day or two and see how they are doing.

Thank you for the help, once it warms up today I am going to try getting them out of the brooder for a bit. My vet is up for ordering me Tylan, do you think I should dose them?

Ok, so they are out in the run for the first time .. it’s in the 70’s out. Hauling all those chickens out there in totes was fun 🤪🤪 I have two hung heat lamps in case anyone is cold .. but a lot seem to be in the sunshine. I have the door open to the grassy area set up for them, so far no takers. We will see if this helps.

How old are your chicks? We moved our 3 week old chick’s from their inside box brooder to the outside heated “Chickidee Suites.” It’s a remodeled shed with a secure fenced run.

They turned 2 weeks old yesterday, they will need to go back in the brooder for the night .. we have strong thunderstorms and winds moving in tonight. Everyone seems pretty comfortable right now, not directly under the lights .. but scattered around. Some hop out and free range and bit, then run back in. At least they are up and moving and being a bit more active I guess. Trying to decide whether to dose the with Tylan or not.

I’m having a hard time with these chickens, everything I‘ve raised up until now has been easy compared to these meat birds. I have 39, they turned 2 weeks old today. They all look fine, have been active, are eating, poop is fine, no blood. I have kept their brooder super clean, offered clean water and everyone is eating fine. Bedding is pine shavings, I clean it out daily. Today they all started sneezing and sound raspy/rattley when breathing, no discharge at all from what I see. This came on quickly. I’ve been reading and reading, it looks like I need antibiotics .. but it’s not sold without a prescription? I guess I need to contact our vet in the morning and see if she can help? Thoughts or advice is welcome, I raised lots of layers and never had these problems.

Hey There! So I'm totally new to chicks/chickens. I've had my babes for 7 days now. (They are currently 4 weeks now). I"ve noticed my one chick (Laverne- Silkie/Frizzle) will kind of lay hunched over and wheeze and kind of gasp for air. I have been treating at home but I felt like she was not showing improvement fast enough and I didn't want to lose her, so I took her and her 2 sisters to the vet today and sure enough it's just a respiratory infection. They all had it, but Laverne was showing the worst signs. She didn't even want to open her eyes. They put her on some meds: and my visit was only about $68 bucks. $20 for meds to last 14 days for all 3 chicks and 48 for an office visit.

If you'd rather wait on an office visit I suggest trying Corid and Vet RX- which can be purchased at Tractor Supply Company. My girl had been suffering for too long and that Is why I decided to take her on in to vet. You can also get a medicate chicken starter feed from Purina that helps with Coccidiosis.

I've attached some pics, if you have any questions that you think I can help with, I'd be more than glad. Just tag me so I can see it! :) Good luck with your babies!!!!!
