It took me a few days of being on this site to remember why I QUIT THIS SITE last year?
Shout out to THE CHICKEN JUGGLER for reminding me and saving me a lot of wasted time.
Being PATRONIZED is not what I came here for. Moving on.
Lol...yeah that would be kinda stupid right? Only I thought we were talking about 1limb here? Maybe I missed the part about her roosting in a whole "wooded area". Since Chickens are creatures of habit (which I'm sure u know that oh wise one), Call me "silly" but removing access is the only...
If it were my problem, if that limb could be cut I would take it down. All the limbs on that tree that were accessible to her, gone. Then if she goes to another tree, then I'd continue with what ur doin and lock her in. Does she roost there in that tree by herself?
Since they free range, maybe she ate something she shouldn't have by mistake? They know what to eat but I say that because she was fine yesterday. Seems sudden. If she hasn't been sluggish or anything before now makes me think she might of gotten into something. If u Can u get ur hands on her...
:) I joined here some months ago, but I've only recently really TRIED to navigate this site. :barnie. There is SO much great information here, I'm a little overwhelmed But I'm gonna give it my best shot. So forgive me in advance if I do something stupid! :th I'm new to chickens too, I can't...
I'm so sorry : ( totally wouldn't propose to be able to diagnose. But I think if that really is blood u see, u need to get her away from the others ASAP. Do they free range?
Red sex link. I have one. Regarding temps: I live in Louisiana so I can't speak about the cold... it rarely goes below 20° here. But as for the heat, when compared to Bard Rock and the Rhode Island Red, she fairs the worst.
YAY!!! :celebrate BTW, i ran out of bricks so some big iron ore rocks are on one end. Not a problem. They stand on those too....so long as rocks and bricks arent more than a couple inches apart. Nice to meetcha!:)
Oh my......Ok, so I just clicked on the link and had no problem. Maybe try again? So sorry. :(. Just go to youtube and search >>>mulieman1. The title of the video is >>>"117 degrees in Phoenix and my chickens are cool, 2013." If u are unable to find the video, ill be glad to explain to u...
Well this may sound strange but it works! I live in Louisisana so it's hot AND Humid. We can easily reach heat indexes of 105+. I have it in my coop now and after about 3 days the chickens caught on and stay in it whenever they get hot. In a couple of minutes the painting stops and there good...
