I've had a hen that we did the surgery on and had to repeat as not all of the infection was removed the first time. She is perfectly fine, no issues now.

Did they send any extra? It might be a packing peanut for extra warmth?

We Live in BC( the wet coast) and have Bourbon Reds and a Spanish Black. They did fine in our weather and seem to grow into nice birds. Although with the heritage birds they take a bit longer to grow for the table.

Is there anyone out there that know someone that sells speckled sussex in canada? prefer close to BC as that's where I live. I am looking for a rooster for my girls. I will hatch eggs if that's all that is available. Thanks

How old is this hen/roo? I don't see much of a comb, wattle or saddle feathers.

We use pine shavings , cedar is only good with mature chickens. Bad for baby chicks. I would be concerned the chickens would eat the pellets as they look alot like their food.

Has anyone sold their dual purpose roo's . Price? (they are not meat birds, unwanted roo's from a hatch.)

I had a hawk attack last month. It took an hour to find my chickens they were all hiding. They are very good at being hidden, I walked past 3 hiding in my shoe rack many times and another bunch in the bush I would have stepped on if I hadn't looked down. Keep looking, you never know. Good luck
