    What can this be???

So I tried to clean her up, and there seems to be some intestine coming out one one side of her and then there is a yellowish (doesn't look like poop) drainage all around her. She did lay this am, so I don't believe she's egg bound. I have her inside and covered with a towel.

Thank you so much for this information. I am going to do my best to get her comfortable and hopefully mended.

    What can this be???

All was fine this morning. I went to refill their water and found a few hens covered in blood and found this poor girl in the corner, being pecked. What can I do to help her? Thank you!

    Sick hen

Unfortunately, she did not make it. We had brought her inside, and made her comfortable. We have a devastated 7 year old. This is the first hen we have lost in 5 years of having hens.

    Sick hen

Unfortunately, we aren't able to be home. We did the best examination we could before we had to leave. I just wanted to make her as comfortable as possible. And talked to our girls about the possible outcome

    Sick hen

This morning my husband went to check on our hens and eggs, and one of our Silver Laced Wyandotte was laying by the door, very lethargic. It looks like the other hens have been pecking her quite a bit as well. She has a patch of back feathers missing and the top of her comb is bloody. She opens...

How often will I get eggs?

Welcome! And like everyone has mentioned, it all depends on the breeds you have. I feel the happier my girls are, the more eggs we get

When to let 6 week old girls and 4 week old girls stay together permanently

They were in separate brooders but spent the days outside, in the pen. They have been doing so well together now that they are in the same brooder. Next step, is getting our flock to accept our 13 new comers into the coop

When to let 6 week old girls and 4 week old girls stay together permanently

We did the look no touch for a few days, and now are on day 3 of hanging out all together. They are getting along pretty well for the most part. A tiff here, a peck here. But I would like to get the together permanently so they can get established and then slowly introduce this crew to our older...

Yes and thank you, I am obsessed. We also have 1 Golden Laced Wyandotte, 1 Barred Plymouth Rock, and 2 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes that are a few weeks older.

Can't figure out which pullets are which breed. Any thoughts?

That's what I thought. I guess time may tell, but who knows. I have tried to research them more, but I am having a hard time finding information on either. Thank you! We also have 3 Ameraucana's and 2 Silver Laced Wyandotte's the same age as these 4 ladies. Ordered 8 and got 9 ‍♀️

Can't figure out which pullets are which breed. Any thoughts?

2 are Prairie Bluebell Eggers and 2 are Sapphire Gems. I just don't know which one is which. Anyone familiar with either breed?
