She is broody again! I can't wait to see what she hatches this time! Now to pick the eggs to put under her and move her to a secure spot away from the flock for some peace and quiet.

Broody update for you peeps following this. All the chicks are thriving and sticking with mom. Sh also adopted 2 that I purchased so she has 9 littles under her! She's been a great mom and can go broody anytime!

We hatched one lone Cochin baby....everything else failed to make to hatching.....it's adorable! Buff Cochin roo over a black Cochin hen. It is all black. If I understand the sex linking correctly is it a sex link? If so is it male or female? IDC either way it's got a place just curious is all!

All 7 of the eggs that were fertile hatched! The only one I'm sure of which rooster fathered is the white one with the furry feet. It definitely came from our Brahma roo. Here is a pic of our little barnyard mixes!!

We set a dozen. I know we've got fertilized eggs because a wyndotte went broody last week. She hoarded 13 but only 7 developed. Bring on the babies!
