    dbounds, have you told the chickens they'll be dinner if they don't lay? I told my five pullets this one afternoon and the next week they each started laying. My son said that's what did it. Telling them.

    I think you may have a roo there. Most of the time, roos are lighter in color than pullets.

    How many chickens do you own?

    Lets see: 6 RIR hens 2 BR roos (1 has got to go!) 6 EE teenagers (2 we know are roos) 2 Delaware teens 3 BR teens (1 we know is a roo) 3 RIR teens (1 we know is a roo) and last but not least 7 baby BR/RIR chickies. So a grand total of 29 at the moment.

    Question about run with trees

    I have two trees in my run. The DH covered the top of the run in chicken wire and has it secured around both trees. I wouldn't leave a hole.
